After their sizzling rendezvous and sweet romance they finally decided that they did not wish to live apart anymore and that they wanted to tie the knot. So this is how their wedding was (in Shaista's own words):
The big fat Indian wedding was really big and fat! My home base is Dubai - Ali's home base was Kuwait- but we decided to split our wedding into 2 places. Pune and Dubai. It was awesome fun! But a logistical nightmare! We had back to back functions. 4 days in Pune and another 3 days in Dubai, with possibly 2 functions on each day!
All I remember was waking up - heading to the salon getting done and plastering a smile on my face for the functions. It was tiring! But it was so much fun to have all the families together, enjoying themselves and all of us having a blast.
Since Pune was relatively a new place for me - it was a little difficult to adjust to the new hair and make up, since I was very comfortable with the people I worked with in Dubai, but you just have to let go sometimes and trust that they know what they are doing and know their job. The mehendi for Ali took place at his home, for the girl’s side we had rented out a boutique hotel 'Cocoon'. I will never forget that place. So many memories.
We had our Nikkah done in Husainy Baug and the reception took place in Turf Club pune.
In Dubai our sangeet took place on a Dhow cruise, a night full of fun and dancing! The reception was at the magnificent Atlantis! Such a beauty... And we had a Masjid function after which we dragged ourselves directly to our honeymoon in the Maldives!!! A much deserved break!
Again guys, stay tuned for the next excerpt of the story 😉 Trust us, it’s worth the wait 😀
